The car-based soccer video game Rocket League will also be a basketball video game later this year, according to a post from the game‘s Twitter account.
As for when this new basketball mode will be released, an earlier tweet from the Rocket League account asked its followers, “Who wants a teaser for something we’re releasing later this year?” So there’s no strict timetable for when players can expect to be able to play this mode.

Rocket League, which allows one-, two- or three-player teams of virtual rocket-powered RC cars to duke it out in fast-paced soccer matches, was one of 2015’s surprise hits thanks in part to its inclusion in Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription when it was released last July for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
Its creators at the San Diego studio Psyonix have continued to support the game since then with a version for Xbox One in February, as well as free and paid downloadable content released at regular intervals. It’s not known if “Rocket League Hoops” will be a free or paid addition.
