With everyone in town for the Oscar Nominee’s luncheon, the Weinsteins and Audi seized Monday night for a celebration of “The King’s Speech” crop of nominations with a royal soiree at the Chateau Marmont. Harvey Weinstein put together an impressive host committee that included Mick Jagger, Renee Zellweger, Ridley Scott, Gerard Butler, and Jennifer Lopez.
King of rock Jagger went for private time with this year’s (presumptive) king of screen Colin Firth, before Firth retired to his reserved area with his “Bridget Jones” co-star Zellweger. Zellweger flew close to Firth for most of the night and did less mingling than others. J. Lo asked for the best bottle of red wine in the house for husband Marc Anthony, who later buddied up with Lenny Kravitz, as Dominic Monaghan and Orlando Bloom chatted nearby.
Others that survived the late guest list purge of “de-invites” on Monday afternoon included Michelle Williams, Kate Bosworth, Jane Fonda,Don Rickles, Quentin Tarantino, Amanda Seyfried (with Ryan Phillippe), Dane Cook, and the always party-friendly Jeremy Piven,
As the party spread from the courtyard in to the lobby and around the Godiva Chocolate Vodka bars, Oscar nominee/host James Franco slipped in to the lobby incognito under a beanie with a backpack to actually check in to the hotel as a guest. He was not seen at the party.
