Robert Pattinson and Julianne Moore are navigating challenging territory in the frenetic red band trailer for David Cronenberg‘s “Maps to the Stars,” which was released on Tuesday.
The film follows members of a Hollywood family that are struggling to keep it together in the high-pressure entertainment business. Oscar nominee Moore plays a washed up actress desperate to revive her career, while “Twilight” star Pattinson is a limo driver struggling to start his career as an actor.
The statical drama aims to explore the seedy underbelly of fame, as the character’s lives revolve around words like “Celebrity. Fan base. Sundance. Tabloids. Career move.”
“Maps to the Stars” also focuses on Agatha (Mia Wasikowska), a young pyromaniac recently released from a psychiatric facility. She befriends Pattinson’s character, Jerome, who asks her a question that is a major theme of the film: “Now you’ve hit Tinseltown. What are you going to do?”
“Maps to the Stars” also stars John Cusack, Evan Bird and Olivia Williams. It debuts in theaters, as well as OnDemand and iTunes, on Feb. 27.
