The trailer for “I Still Believe” will give you faith in the power of a good song and of the power of prayer. “Riverdale” actor KJ Apa stars in this music biopic as Jeremy Camp, the Grammy-nominated Christian rock star.
His love story with fiancée, played by Britt Robertson, shows how he rose to fame as a singer and songwriter at a young age, just as his bride to be started to grow sick. The film is meant to be an uplifting true-life story of Camp’s life and his journey to prove there is always hope.
“Earlier this year we had some tough news. Some really tough news. Can we do something special for the most special person in my life tonight? Can we pray for her,” Camp says about his wife at the beginning of one of his performances. “Heal her tonight.”
Musician Shania Twain and Gary Sinise also star in the film as Camp’s parents.
Camp has sold over 5 million albums and has toured all over the world. He has received four RIAA-certified Gold albums, two American Music Awards nominations, multiple ASCAP awards, 38 No. 1 songs, a gold digital single (“There Will Be A Day”), and a multi-platinum DVD.
“I Still Believe” comes from the team behind “I Can Only Imagine” and is directed by Andrew and Jon Erwin. Jon Erwin wrote the screenplay with Jon Gunn.
Lionsgate is releasing the faith-based film on March 20, 2020. Watch the inspiring first trailer for “I Still Believe” above.
