Archie is back — and from the look of it, is ready to fight.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teased Season 3, which begins production on Friday, with a new photo of KJ Apa, who plays the red-headed hero of “Riverdale.”

“Look who’s back in red and fighting shape for Season 3 of #Riverdale. We start Friday. SO EXCITED!” he tweeted Tuesday morning, along with a photo of a shirtless Archie in boxing gear.

At the end of Season 2, Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) frames Archie for Cassidy Bullock’s murder at Shadow Lake, and Arch gets arrested by Sheriff Minetta. We know that Lodge’s stooge Andre is the one responsible for Cassidy’s demise, but Hiram — and Hermione — have Riverdale’s law enforcement wrapped around their fingers.

This isn’t the first time Aguirre-Sacasa has teased information about Season 3.

In a tweet last week, the showrunner tweeted out a photo teasing the first episode of the upcoming season, titled “Labor Day.” It features a comic of Archie in court, being accused by the prosecution of being guilty. “Here is a gripping courtroom drama… Involving Archie’s honor… and a startling denouement that will fascinate you!!” the description reads.

And in a Q&A with TV Line after the Season 2 finale, Aguirre-Sacasa teased that “the prospect of Archie on trial is pretty delicious.” He added that “the prospect of Archie in a juvenile detention center is pretty delicious,” and said that “there might also be sort of a prison noir element to [Season 3] as well.”

Oh, Archiekins. If anyone can make it out of this, it’s you (and we know Ronnie, Betty and Jughead have your back).

“Riverdale” Season 3 premieres on The CW on Wednesday, October 10 at 8 p.m.
