Rita Wilson Is Now a Huffington Post Editor

Tom Hanks’ actress wife signs on to steer Huff/Post 40, a new baby-boomer site launching in August

Rita Wilson has been named editor at large of Huff/Post 40, a new website targeting baby boomers that is being launched by the AOL Huffington Post Media Group in August.

According to Arianna Huffington, Wilson even came up with the site's slash-laden name.

While primarily known as an actress — Wilson met her husband Tom Hanks on the 1985 comedy "Volunteers" — the 54-year-old has dabbled in editorial before. She's been an contributing editor at O, The Oprah Magazine since 2006.

Despite the new duties, Wilson, who produced Nia Vardalos' wildly successful 2002 indie comedy "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," will also keep her day job. She'll appear in the upcoming drama "Larry Crowne" — which was written by Vardalos and Hanks.
