Actor Ricky Schroder has been arrested on domestic violence charges and is currently in custody on $50,000 bail, TheWrap has confirmed.
The “Silver Spoons” star was taken into custody early Wednesday after police received a call of domestic violence at 12:43 a.m. PST, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies went the actor’s home and spoke to Schroeder — who they identified as the suspect — and the alleged victim. Schroder was booked at Malibu Loft Hill’s Sheriff’s station, Dept. Crowder confirmed. He has not yet posted bail.
The deputy also confirmed that the female adult at the scene refused medical treatment, and that police had responded to a previous altercation between the two at the same residence in the early morning hours of April 2.
The alleged victim’s name has not been released.
Ricky Schroder Productions did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
Best known for playing Ricky Stratton on the ’80s sitcom “Silver Spoons,” Schroder’s other notable television roles including Det. Danny Sorenson on “NYPD Blue”, Mike Doyle on “24,” and Nurse Paul on “Scrubs.” He was last seen as Robert Lee Parton in the 2015 TV movie “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors,” and 2016’s “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.”
Schroder was married to Andrea Bernard from 1992 until 2016 when the couple filed for divorce.
