Ricky Harris, Comedian and Actor, Dies at 54

He starred on “Everybody Hates Chris” and recently appeared in “Dope”

Comedian and actor Ricky Harris died on Monday. He was 54.

The cause of death is currently unknown. Harris suffered a heart attack two years ago.

The stand-up comic and actor had a string of onscreen credits, beginning with John Singleton’s 1993 movie “Poetic Justice.” He also had a recurring role on the 1990s sitcom “Moesha” and Chris Rock’s 2006-08 TV series “Everybody Hates Chris.”

Harris, who was a childhood friend of rapper Snoop Dogg, was also known for playing characters on hip-hop albums. Back in 1995, he played Albert Torena in Michael Mann’s “Heat.”

His most recent onscreen role came in the 2015 indie feature “Dope.”

He is survived by his mother, ex-wife and two daughters, per the Los Angeles Times.
