Ricky Gervais & Emily Blunt Join Disney’s ‘Muppets’ Movie

Star Jason Segel co-wrote the script with his “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” director Nicholas Stoller

A pair of Brits have agreed to cameo in Disney's "Muppets" movie.

Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt have joined the all-star cast, which also includes Alan Arkin, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Zach Galifianakis, Donald Glover, Danny Trejo and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Jason Segel stars as a man who reunites the Muppets and helps them put on a show in order to save their movie studio from a developer.

Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones also have key roles in the film, though it remains unclear who Gervais and Blunt will be playing.

James Bobin is directing the movie, which has been shooting around Los Angeles for several weeks.

Segel co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller, who directed the "How I Met Your Mother" star in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."

The "Muppets" movie will surely be aimed at a younger audience that should know Gervais from his work in the "Night at the Museum" series.

Meanwhile, Blunt will surely get a familiarity boost from her appearance opposite Black in Fox's "Gulliver's Travels." She also voices the titular role in the upcoming animated film "Gnomeo and Juliet."

Gervais is represented by WME and United Agents, while Blunt is repped by CAA and Ken McReddie Associates.

The duo's casting was first reported by the Hollywood Reporter.
