Ricky Gervais will briefly meet Michael Scott in a cameo on "The Office," TheWrap has confirmed.
Gervais, who co-created the British inspiration for the show, will appear in the cold open of the Jan. 27 episode.

"It's a little more than if you blink, you'll miss it, but if you don't set your TiVo right, you'll miss it," "Office" show runner Paul Lieberstein, who also plays Toby, told Vulture, which first reported the cameo.
So it sounds like Lieberstein isn't taking TheWrap's gentle suggestion that Gervais be the new boss, at least for a while, when Steve Carell departs. Gervais played the original "Office" boss, David Brent, on the classic British series.
