Kirsten Dunst’s long-awaited Hollywood Walk of Fame star came with an unfortunate tweet from Reuters, which shared the news on Friday.
In a now-deleted tweet, the Reuters Top News Twitter account posted a video from the event with the caption: “Kirsten Dunst, best known for her role as Spiderman’s girlfriend, receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
But Dunst has had an extensive film and TV career and has starred in cult-favorites like “Marie Antoinette,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “The Virgin Suicides,” and “Bring It On,” in addition to the Toby Maguire Spider-Man films. She’s also currently leading Showtime’s “On Becoming a God in Central Florida.”
Reuters’ tweet also comes a few days after Dunst shared her frustrations on Sirius XM’s “In-Depth With Larry Flick” for not getting enough industry awards recognition for her work.

“I’ve never been recognized in my industry,” Dunst said. “I’ve never been nominated for anything — maybe like, twice, for Golden Globes when I was little and once for ‘Fargo,’ but like, I always feel like nobody, I don’t know. Maybe they think I’m just the girl from ‘Bring It On.’”
“I just feel like, what did I do?” Dunst continued. “Sometimes you’re like, hm, it’d be nice to be recognized by your peers.”
A spokesperson for Reuters did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
