Carol Genis has been named Managing Director of Relativity Media, the company announced Tuesday.
In the newly created position, Genis will oversee the day-to-day operations of Relativity, directly managing corporate legal, business affairs and finance.

“I have worked closely with Carol for more than a decade, relying on her sound counsel,” Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh said. “She is an incredibly talented executive with an intimate understanding of our business, and her experience and insight will prove vital as we prepare for an IPO. I am thrilled to have Carol on our senior executive team.”
Prior to her position with Relativity, she represented the company as a lawyer. She was an Equity Partner at K&L Gates for more than 20 years where she specialized in entertainment and intellectual property law, representing several major motion picture and television studios (including Relativity), distribution companies, authors, screenwriters and talent.
