Relativity Media is moving ahead with its construction comedy “Contractors,” with Steve Pink set to direct the film from his own script, a person familiar with the project has told TheWrap.
Set in The Hamptons, the story follows two underachieving builders who are hired to build a dream house for a millionaire and his girlfriend who, it turns out, is one of the builder’s ex-girlfriends.
Relativity acquired the spec script by Bob Fisher and David Hemingson in 2007. Walt Becker (“Van Wilder”) was attached to direct at one point.
Pink’s upcoming credits include “Bad Santa 2” and the comedy “Company,” which is based on the novel of the same name by Max Berry, which is about an obscure Seattle-based corporation where no one has ever met the CEO. Pink is repped by UTA.
