"Walk the Line" star Reese Witherspoon was hospitalized after being struck by a car while jogging on Wednesday, the Santa Monica Police Department confirmed to TheWrap.
A police spokesman said Witherspoon, 35, was struck by the vehicle while in the crosswalk at the intersection of 20th Street and Georgina Ave.
The actress was transported to the local hospital and treated for minor injuries. The driver was cooperative with police, the spokesperson said.
A statement released by the Santa Monica Police Department further indicates that police responded to the scene at 11:14 a.m., and that the driver, an 84-year-old woman, was interviewed and released after being cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
A representative for Witherspoon confirmed that she wasn't seriously injured, and "is resting comfortably at home."
