Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise is known for its rotating casts, but a number of women don’t make it past one season. They may not gel with their castmates or viewers, their storylines may not command attention, or they simply don’t enjoy the experience of having their private life made public. Click through to see all the one-season housewives. (Note: this doesn’t include the cast of “The Real Housewives of D.C.” which only lasted one season.)
Kimberly Bryant
“Real Housewives of Orange County” Season 1
“RHOC” is the longest-running show and had the most cast changes. Kimberly Bryant was an “OG of the OC” — one of the founding housewives — but moved to the Chicago suburbs after appearing on Season 1.
Quinn Fry
“Real Housewives of Orange County” Season 3
Fry joined “RHOC” in Season 3 as a single mom who loved dating younger guys. She really wasn’t into gossiping, which was a core requirement for the role.
Peggy Tanous
“Real Housewives of Orange County” Season 6
Tanous joined “RHOC” in Season 6. She was a stay-at-home mom who opened up with her struggles with post-partum depression and anxiety. Anxiety led her to leave the show, but she still made a few guest appearances in Season 7.
Lizzie Rovsek
“Real Housewives of Orange County” Season 9
Lizzie, a swimwear designer, joined “RHOC” in Season 9 alongside Shannon Beador. Aside from clashing with Tamra Judge (which she would continue to do after leaving the show), she didn’t really leave too much of an impression.
Peggy Sulahian
“Real Housewives of Orange County” Season 12
Peggy has the distinction of being the 100th housewife to join the franchise. Sadly, that was really the only thing distinct about her. She did bring awareness to breast cancer in her short run.
Elizabeth Lyn Vargas
“Real Housewives of Orange County” Season 15
Vargas, not to be confused with the news anchor of the same name, was introduced as a fun-loving free spirit. But her cult upbringing cast a dark shadow over her storyline, and she didn’t return.
Jen Armstrong
“Real Housewives of Orange County” Season 16
Doctor Jen is a successful plastic surgeon who counted several of the housewives among her clients. She would awkwardly insert herself into the drama, but even more awkward was her relationship with her husband Ryan aka Ryne, whom she filed for divorce after filming.
Noella Bergener
“Real Housewives of Orange County” Season 16
Like Armstrong, Bergener was brought on for Season 16 to inject new blood. Cameras followed along as her divorce from “Sweet James” Bergener (an attorney with billboards all over SoCal) played out.
Cindy Barshop
“Real Housewives of New York City” Season 1
Barshop, an entrepreneur and mother of young twins, never really seemed to click with the other housewives, whose children were much older.
Jules Wainstein
“Real Housewives of New York City” Season 8
Wainstein, the self-described offspring of “an Asian and a Jew,” gave off a sense of fragility that concerned viewers and her castmates, particularly around her eating habits.
Eboni K. Williams
“Real Housewives of New York City” Season 13
Williams, a lawyer and television personality, as the first Black castmember to join “RHONY” at a time when there was heavy discourse about Black Lives Matter. She clashed with her older White castmates, notably Ramona Singer, and ratings tumbled. The reunion was canceled — a first in the show’s history — and the show ended up as well. It will be rebooted in 2023 with a diverse cast but without Williams — she has her own show “Equal Justice with Judge Eboni K. Williams.”
DeShawn Snow
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 1
Snow, who was married to NBA player Eric Snow, lacked the big personality of her costars. Although she was a founding “RHOA” cast member, she did not return. She and her husband divorced after the show.
Claudia Jordan
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 7
Jordan, a former “Price is Right” and “Deal or No Deal” model, joined “RHOA” in Season 7. She clashed with NeNe Leakes, which spelled her doom. She has since become a popular radio host.
Kim Fields
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 8
Former child star Fields joined “RHOA” seeking new girlfriends. But her religious background, and the fact she was older than most of the cast, made her an odd fit that didn’t last.
Shamari DeVoe
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 11
Despite her star power, the R&B singer and wife of Ronnie DeVoe didn’t return for a second season, though she did go onto reality shows like “BET Presents: The Encore” and VH1’s “Couples Retreat.”
Teresa Aprea and Nicole Napolitano
“Real Housewives of New Jersey” Season 6
Aprea and Napolitano were the first twins cast in any franchise and part of a cast shakeup for “RHONJ.” Audiences did not enjoy the sisters or Amber Marchese, and none of the three newbies came back.
Amber Marchese
“Real Housewives of New Jersey” Season 6
As mentioned above, Marchese didn’t really resonate with audiences. Neither did her husband Jim, who often found himself coming into conflict with the women.
Joyce Giraud
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Season 4
Giraud, a beauty queen from Puerto Rico, was part of a cast shakeup for “RHOBH.” She was unable to shake her pageant persona — which fans felt was fake — and she did not return. However, she used her experience to launch “Rica Famosa Latina” — a “Housewives”-inspired show with Latina women.
Carlton Gebbia
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Season 4
Like Giraud, Gebbia was brought onto “RHOBH” to shake things up. A practicing Wiccan, Gebbia clashed heavily with Kyle Richards, whom she dubbed “Vile” Richards. “Housewives” honcho Andy Cohen says Gebbia had an “unfair edit,” so who knows what the future might hold?
Kathryn Edwards
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Season 6
Edwards, a friend of Lisa Rinna’s, joined the show but really failed to make her mark, especially when compared to her fellow newbie that season — the over-the-top Erika Girardi aka Erika Jayne.
Diana Jenkins
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Season 12
Viewers did not warm to Jenkins, a wealthy socialite/philanthropist who clashed with Sutton Stracke and Garcelle Beauvais. Jenkins also seemed disjointed from the franchise; she never appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” and joined the reunion remotely, citing COVID. She left the show to focus on her pregnancy.
Cristy Rice
“Real Housewives of Miami” Season 1
Rice, a swimwear designer married to NBA star Glen Rice, did not return to “RHOM” after a major cast change for Season 2. Whereas castmate Larsa Pippin was brought back for the show’s reboot in 2021, Rice was not.
Ana Quincoces
“Real Housewives of Miami” Season 2
Quincoces, a lawyer whose real passion was food, was brought on in Season 2. Her role was reduced in Season 3, and she went on to compete in “Food Network Star.”
Karent Sierra
“Real Housewives of Miami” Season 2
Sierra’s ever-present smile irked her castmates, who accused the dentist of being fake.
Katie Rost
“Real Housewives of Potomac” Season 1
Rost has the unfortunate distinction of being the only original “RHOP” wife not brought back full-time for Season 2, though she did reappear in Season 4. Rost’s custody battles deeply affected her.
Tiffany Hendra
“Real Housewives of Dallas” Season 1
Hendra was an original “RHOD” castmate. She blasted Andy Cohen in a Facebook post after departing the series, calling him a “crack up” who is only interested in financially profiting off the women.
Tiffany Moon
“Real Housewives of Dallas” Season 5
Moon, an anesthesiologist and entrepreneur, struggled with her castmates from the start — notably Brandi Redmond, who had filmed a racially insensitive video about Asians. Further conversations amongst the cast about racism (and anti-racism) became so fraught that Bravo had to step in and make a statement. “RHOD” was ultimately put on hiatus, despite Moon revealing they had shot some test footage for a potential Season 6.
Jennie Nguyen
“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” Season 2
Nguyen was the first Vietnamese cast member to join any franchise and was initially praised for adding diversity to the show. However, after the Season 2 reunion taped, anti-Black social media posts made or supported by Nguyen surfaced, and she was cut from the show.
Nina Ali
“Real Housewives of Dubai” Season 1
Ali was one of six women cast for Bravo’s first international “Housewives” show. She announced on Instagram she would not be returning for Season 2, writing “moving my attention away from the show will allow myself the space to focus on new challenges.”
