‘Real Housewives’ Star Luann de Lesseps Charged With Felony Over December Arrest

Reality star faces a possible sentence of up to five years if convicted

“Real Housewives of New York” star Luann de Lesseps has been charged with a felony stemming from her December arrest in Florida, according to charging documents obtained by TheWrap.

According to the documents, filed Wednesday, de Lesseps was charged with resisting an officer with violence, a felony, as well as misdemeanor charges of trespassing and disorderly intoxication.

The felony charge carries a possible sentence of up to five years, while the misdemeanors carry sentences of up to a year.

De Lesseps was arrested after an alleged Dec. 23 incident. According to the Palm Beach Post, the reality star was accused of slamming a door and kicking at least one police officer. She also reportedly told people, “I’m going to kill you all” prior to her arrest.

TheWrap has reached out to de Lesseps’ spokesman for comment on the charges.

Following her arrest, the reality star announced her intention to seek treatment.

“After the events last Saturday night in Palm Beach, I am truly embarrassed,” she tweeted. “I have decided to seek professional guidance and will be voluntarily checking into an alcohol treatment center. I intend to turn this unfortunate incident into a positive life changing event.”
