In the suit, Los Angeles anchor and Vanderpump buddy Robert Kovacik claims that he was attempting to chill with the reality TV star, her husband Ken and a couple other people when fellow patron Roger Talavera verbally and physically abused them.
According to the suit, alcohol was involved — when Kovacik and crew showed up, Talavera was in a "severe degree of intoxication." He began verbally taunting the party in a threatening manner. Things escalated to a physical level, the suit claims, after Talavera approached the party's booth and decked Kovacik.
Claiming that he's suffered "physical injuries, emotional injuries, humiliation, embarrassment and other damages," Kovacik is suing Talavera — along with the Beverly Hills Hotel, for allegedly continuing to serve Talavera even after he got drunk enough to become a threat to others and neglecting to intervene as the situation escalated.
Kovacik is seeking unspecified damages, plus medical costs, interest and court costs.
In a statement provided to TheWrap, a spokesperson for the Beverly Hills Hotel said that the hotel is "closely investigating" the suit and, after a review of its records and an internal investigation, will respond to Kovacik's allegations.
