NBC fought its way to the top of the ratings board thanks to the second part of “The Voice” and its popular Battle Rounds, which aired Monday night. The singing competition helped clinch a 0.58 score in the key 25- to 54-year-old demo for the network overall, according to Nielsen’s live plus same-day figures, roughly the same rating (0.61) it received for the reality show’s Battle Rounds premiere last week.

Beginning at 8 p.m. with a two-hour slot, “The Voice” captured the eyes and ears of an average 6.2 million viewers, with 0.7 in the key demo. The show remained relatively on-pitch compared to last week, which saw 6.5 million average viewers and 0.72 in the demo.

While NBC hit all the right notes to win the night in the demo ratings, CBS was first in total average viewership thanks to its procedurals “NCIS” and “NCIS: Hawai’i.” CBS saw a slight uptick in viewing numbers, with 5.7 million total average viewers as opposed to last week’s 5.4 million. When breaking down CBS’ ratings and total viewership across shows, the network saw increases across the board, with some programming jumping up an entire point in ratings.

Following “The Voice,” NBC aired an episode of “Quantum Leap,” which reached 2.4 million viewers on average (roughly the same as the week prior) and captured 0.35 in the key demo at 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, CBS kicked off its 8 p.m. primetime hour with back-to-back half-hour episodes of “The Neighborhood” and “Bob Hearts Abishola,” which garnered 0.59 and 0.44 in the key demo, respectively. Both programs posted season highs in terms of live viewing, earning 5.5 million and 5.1 total million viewers on average, respectively. At 9 p.m., “NCIS” got 0.46 in the demo and 6.9 million average viewers — the most viewership of the night, same as last week. Its spinoff, “NCIS: Hawai’i” received 0.38 in ratings and nearly 5 million total viewers on average. Both “The Neighborhood” and “NCIS: Hawai’i” leapt a full point up in ratings from the week prior, with the former also adding half a million total viewers on average.

ABC narrowly claimed second place in demo ratings, with 0.46 in the coveted demo. NBC was first runner-up in total average viewership, with roughly 5 million viewers overall.

At 10 p.m., the night closed out with “The Good Doctor,” which earned 0.34 in the demo and 3 million total average viewers. When looking at live + 7 Nielsen ratings, the medical procedural has become the beating heart of broadcast TV in its time slot and the demo.

Tied for third in ratings were Fox and CBS, with 0.45. In third place for total average viewership was Fox. At 8 p.m., Fox aired its tentpole “9-1-1,” which sizzled with 0.63 in the key demo and nearly 5 million total viewers on average.
