NBC took an overall victory Tuesday night on the strength of a steady "America's Got Talent," while Gordon Ramsay's new "Hotel Hell" continued to heat up from its series premiere on Monday night, according to preliminary numbers.
NBC grabbed first place in both the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic and total viewers with a 2.3 rating/7 share in the demo and 7.9 million total viewers. "America's Got Talent" at 8 p.m. performed on a par with its last original three weeks ago, drawing a 2.7/8 in the demo and receiving 9.8 million total viewers — making it the night's top-rated and most-watched program.
A repeat of the new reality series "Stars Earn Stripes" followed.
Fox drew a close second place in ratings and third in total viewers with a 2.2/7 and 5.4 million. "Hotel Hell," which had its series premiere Monday night, grew another 11 percent with its Tuesday night premiere, posting a 2.1/7 and receiving 5 million total viewers. "MasterChef" the following hour had a minor decline from its last original three weeks ago, grabbing a 2.4/7 and attracting 5.7 million total viewers.
Univision took third place in ratings and fourth in total viewers with a 1.3/4 and 3.3 million.
CBS, which ran repeats throughout the night, came in fourth in ratings and second in total viewers with a 1.1/3 and 6.5 million.
ABC drew fifth in ratings and total viewers with a 0.8/2 and 3 million. Its sole original program for the night, "NY Med" at 10 p.m., was up 43 percent from last week, posting a 0.7/2 and receiving 4.2 million total viewers.
