CBS' "Big Brother" was the top-rated show in primetime Thursday night, but Fox was the evening's overall winner with a two-hour episode of "So You Think You Can Dance."
DANCE FEVER "Big Brother" posted a 2.6 rating/9 share in the key adults 18-49 demographic from 8-9 p.m., but CBS' total score for Thursday night was dragged down by repeats of "CSI" and "The Mentalist," which combined for a 1.7/5 average from 9-11 p.m. Overall, CBS averaged a 2.0/6 Thursday night. Fox airs a shorter, two-hour primetime schedule and posted a 2.4/8 with the season seven finale of "So You Think You Can Dance" that featured a guest hip-hop performance from Ellen DeGeneres.
WIPED OUT Univision got the third place position on the podium with a 1.7/5 average Thursday night. ABC came in fourth with a re-run of "Wipeout" and new episodes of "Rookie Blue" and "Boston Med." ABC averaged 1.5/5 for the night. NBC came in last with a 1.2/4 behind comedy repeats and a re-run of "Law & Order SVU."
EXTRA BOOST Both Fox and CBS benefited from preseason NFL broadcasts in some cities.
