NBC's "The Office" and "Parks & Recreation" hit series lows Thursday night, while CBS won overall thanks largely to the top-rated "Big Bang Theory," according to preliminary numbers.
CBS was first in the advertiser- coveted 18-49 demographic with a 3.3 rating/9 share and in total viewers with 13.4 million. Though down slightly from its last original airing two weeks ago, "The Big Bang Theory" at 8 p.m. was the night's top-rated and most-watched program with a 5.4/16 and 17.1 million total viewers. "Two and a Half Men" at 8:30 was even with two weeks ago, drawing a 4.1/11 and had 13.8 million total viewers, while "Person of Interest" at 9 had a 2.9/7 and 14.3 million total viewers. "Elementary" at 10 posted a 2.9/7 and had 10.4 million total viewers.
Fox took second place in ratings and total viewers with a 2.5/7 and 7 million. "The X Factor" at 8 dipped from last week, when it had a football lead-in, posting a 2.7/8 and 8.2 million total viewers. "Glee" the following hour jumped 47 percent from last week, taking a 2.2/6 and drawing 5.8 million total viewers.
ABC came in third in the demo and total viewers with a 2.1/6 and 6.9 million total viewers. The recently canceled "Last Resort" at 8 dropped 17 percent to a series low of 1.0/3 and took 5.2 million total viewers, while "Grey's Anatomy" ticked down to a 3.0/8 and had 8.7 million total viewers. "Scandal" at 10 was up up 10 percent for a 2.2/6 and drew 6.7 million total viewers.
Univision came in fourth in ratings and total viewers with a 1.7/5 and 4 million.
NBC came in fifth in ratings and total viewers with a 1.2/3 and 3.4 million. With the exception of "30 Rock" at 8 — which ran its Liz Lemon wedding episode, and ticked up 8 percent for a 1.3/4 with 3.6 million total viewers — the network saw declines. "Up All Night" at 8:30 dipped to a 1.2/3 and had 3 million total viewers, while "The Office" at 9 dropped 10 percent to a series low of 1.9/5 and drew 3.9 million total viewers. "Parks & Recreation" at 9:30 also hit a series low, dropping 18 percent to a 1.4/4 with 3 million total viewers, while "Rock Center With Brian Williams" at 10 fell 18 percent to a 0.9/2 with 3.4 million total viewers.
