CBS took the top spot in both ratings and viewers on Thursday as NBC’s “American Comedy Awards” fared poorly in its first airing and CBS’ “Two and a Half Men” season finale fell 40 percent versus last year.
CBS had a 2.0 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and 8.8 million total viewers, according to preliminary numbers. “The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. earned a night-high 3.7/13 and 14.2 million viewers. “The Millers” at 8:30 received a 2.0/6 and 9.2 million viewers. At 9, the “Two and a Half Men” season finale got a 2.1/6 and 8.5 million viewers, which was flat with last week. “Bad Teacher” at 9:30 had a 1.3/4 and 5.8 million viewers. “Elementary” at 10 received a 1.5/4 — tying a low — and 7.5 million viewers.

Fox was second in ratings with a 1.5/5 and third in viewers with 4.9 million. “Hell’s Kitchen” at 8 had a 1.5/5 and 4.2 million viewers. “American Idol” at 9 got a 1.6/5 and 7.1 million viewers. The recently canceled “Surviving Jack” at 9:30 received a 1.2/3 and 4.1 million viewers.
ABC was third in ratings with a 1.3/4 and second in viewers with 4.9 million. Following a repeat, “Grey’s Anatomy” tied a low with a 2.3/7, and had 7.5 million viewers. “Black Box” at 10 got a 1.1/3 and 4.4 million viewers.
Univision was fourth in ratings with a 1.2/4 and fifth in viewers with 2.9 million.

NBC was fifth in ratings with a 1.0/3 and fourth in total viewers with 3.2 million. “Hollywood Game Night” at 8 had a 0.9/3 — tying a low — and 3.3 million viewers. “The American Comedy Awards” at 9 got a 1.0/3 and 3.1 million viewers.
The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in total viewers with 1.5 million. “Vampire Diaries” at 8 got a 0.7/2 — tying a low — and 1.6 million viewers. “Reign” at 9 had a 0.5/2 and 1.5 million viewers.
Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in total viewers with 988,000.
