Despite minor downturns in the ratings, competition shows "The Voice" and "America's Got Talent" secured NBC's dominance on Tuesday night, landing the top two slots of the evening, according to preliminary numbers.
"America's Got Talent" kicked off the evening for the network at 8 p.m., dropping 11 percent from last week with a 3.3 rating/11 share in the adults 18-49 demographic and 12.2 million total viewers.
Despite the week-to-week downturn and the fact that Tuesday night's episode was the show's lowest-rated telecast this season, "Talent" took the second-highest ratings of the night. "The Voice," while also down from last week (albeit by a more modest 2 percent), aired from 9 to 11, scoring the evening's top honors with a 4.5/13 in the demo and 12 million total viewers.
At Fox, "MasterChef" started the night at 8, pulling even with last Tuesday's airing with a 1.9/6 in the demo and 4.3 million total viewers. The network fleshed out the evening with back-to-back repeats of "Raising Hope" at 9 and 10, which drew a 1.2/3 and 1.0/3 in the demo, respectively.
ABC ran repeats throughout the night, with "Wipeout" at 8 taking a 1.0/3 in the demo, and back-to-back "Body of Proof's" at 9 and 10 receiving a 0.7/2 and 0.8/2 in the demo, respectively.
CBS also went the rerun route, with "NCIS" at 8 taking a 1.3/4 in the demo; "NCIS: Los Angeles" at 9 also receiving a 1.3/4 in the demo; and "The Good Wife" closing the evening at 10 with a 0.8/2 in the demo.
