Last Monday, NBC and ABC tied atop the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic per Nielsen’s fast national ratings. This week, thanks in part to a 20-percent ratings slip by the latter network’s “The Whispers,” NBC once again lays claim outright to the evening’s primetime throne, topping both the demo and total viewers.
Still, it was a close one: ABC finished second by just one-tenth of a ratings point and about 33,000 total viewers.
Elsewhere, The CW’s “Barber Battle” had soft marks following reruns.
NBC was first in ratings with a 1.6 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 5.593 million, according to preliminary numbers. “American Ninja Warrior” at 8 p.m. earned a 1.9/7 and 6.7 million viewers. “The Island” at 10 received a 1.1/4 and 3.4 million viewers.
ABC was second in ratings with a 1.5/5 and in viewers with 5.560 million. At 8, “The Bachelorette” posted a 1.9/7 and 6.6 million viewers. At 10, “The Whispers” got a 0.8/3 and 3.4 million viewers.
CBS and Fox tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.9/3. CBS was third in total viewers with 5.3 million, airing all reruns; Fox was fourth with 3.3 million. “So You Think You Can Dance” at 8 was the only show on Fox’s primetime schedule.
Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 2.2 million.
Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in viewers with 1.5 million.
The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 600,000. Following repeats, “Barber Battle” at 9:30 had a 0.2/1 and 531,000 viewers.
