Ratings: NBA Finals Dominate Repeat-Heavy Evening

The Miami Heat barely eked out a victory, but the game itself was a decisive win for ABC

The NBA Finals continued to draw the top ratings slot of the evening with the Game 3 face-off between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat, though the hoops match had little in the way of competition in terms of original programming.

The NBA Finals on ABC at 8 p.m. performed on a par with the first two games of the series, according to preliminary numbers, drawing a 5.5 rating/15 share in the adults 18-49 demographic and 13.5 million total viewers for a squeaker of a game that saw the Heat scrape by with an 88-86 victory. The network preceded the game with "Jimmy Kimmel Game Night" at 7, which received a 1.8/7 in the demo and 5.4 million total viewers; and "NBA Countdown" at 7:30, which took a 2.4/8 in the demo and 6.4 million total viewers. ("Countdown" was also received the second-highest ratings of the evening.)

"60 Minutes" kicked off the evening for CBS at 7, taking a 1.3/4 in the demo and 9.3 million total viewers, followed by a "CSI: Miami" repeat the following hour, which had a 0.7/2 in the demo and 5.7 million total viewers. An "Undercover Boss" repeat at 9 had a 0.9/2 in the demo and 4.5 million total viewers, while another "CSI: Miami" repeat rounded out the evening at 10 with a 1.0/3 in the demo and 6 million total viewers.

At NBC,"Dateline" started off the primetime roster at 7 with a 0.7/2 in the demo and 3.7 million total viewers, while a "Minute to Win It" repeat the following hour also drew a 0.7/2 in the demo and took 2.9 million total viewers. An "America's Got Talent" repeat finished off the night at 9 with a 1.3/3 in the demo and 5.2 million total viewers.

Fox ran repeats throughout the evening, starting with "American Dad" at 7 (1.1/4 in the demo; 2.2 million total viewers) followed by "Bob's Burgers" at 7:30 (1.1/4 in the demo; 2.1 million total viewers). A "Simpsons" repeat at 8 took a 1.8/6 in the demo and 3.7 million total viewers, followed by "The Cleveland Show" at 8:30 (1.6/5 in the demo and 3.4 million total viewers). A "Family Guy" rerun at 9 took a 2.0/5 in the demo and 4.2 million total viewers, while another "American Dad" repeat wrapped up the evening at 9:30 with a 1.6/4 in the demo and 3.5 million total viewers.
