ABC's "Missing" and NBC's "Awake" hit series lows Thursday night, while "American Idol" took a dip but still pushed Fox to an overall win for the night, according to preliminary numbers.
Fox took first place in ratings and total viewers with an average 3.0 rating/9 share in the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic and 11 million.
"American Idol" at 8 was down 7 percent from last Thursday but still took the night's top ratings and total viewership, posting a 3.9/13 in the demo with 14.6 million total viewers.
"Touch" the following hour was also down, slipping 9 percent in the demo for a series low of 2.1/6 and 7.3 million total viewers.
ABC came in second in ratings and third in total viewers with an average 2.2/6 and 8.4 million. The freshman drama "Missing" at 8 was slipped 7 percent to its lowest rating so far, receiving a 1.3/4 in the demo with 7 million total viewers. "Grey's Anatomy" at 9 climbed 10 percent in the demo from last week for a 3.2/9 and 9.7 million total viewers. The new series "Scandal" the following hour was also up slightly, taking a 2.1/6 with 7.4 million total viewers.
CBS drew third place in ratings and second in total viewers with an average 1.8/5 and 8.4 million. Sandwiched by repeats, "Rules of Engagement" at 8:30, the network's only original programming for the night, dropped 19 percent for a 2.2/7 in the demo and 8.7 million total viewers.
Univision grabbed fourth in the demo and total viewers with an average 1.6/5 and 3.8 million. "Una Familia Con Suerte" at 8 posted a 1.5/5 in the demo and 3.6 million, while "Un Abismo de Pasion" drew a 1.6/4 in the demo and 3.9 million total viewers. "La Que No Podia Amar" at 10 received a 1.7/5 and 4 million total viewers.
NBC took fifth place in ratings and total viewers with an average 1.4/4 and 3.2 million. "Community" at 8 dipped to a 1.3/5 in the demo and 2.9 million total viewers, while "30 Rock" climbed to a 1.5/5 and 3.2 million total viewers.
"The Office" at 9 drew even with last week for a 2.2/6 in the demo and 4.3 million total viewers, while "Parks and Recreation" at 9:30 was even with its last original episode six weeks ago, pulling a 1.8/5 in the demo and 3.5 million total viewers. ("Parks" retained 82 percent of its "Office" lead-in, up from its 69 percent average retention in the time slot last season.) "Awake" at 10 dropped 11 percent from last week, hitting a series low of 0.8/2 with 2.7 million total viewers.
