Sunday night's season four premiere of "Mad Men" was AMC's highest-rated original broadcast of all time with 2.9 million viewers tuning in.
"Mad Men's" season-four debut was up five percent from last year's premiere, and the episode delivered 61 percent more viewers than its season three average.
"Mad Men" has been a critical hit for AMC as well as a ratings success. The retro ad agency drama was nominated for 17 Emmys, more than any other drama series on television.
