Ratings: ‘Last Comic Standing’ and ‘Gang Related’ Get Finale Boosts; ‘Big Brother’ Top-Rated

CBS shares first place with Univision in key demo

NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and Fox’s “Gang Related” enjoyed significant week-to-week boosts with their season finales Thursday night, though they couldn’t catch CBS’ “Big Brother,” which took the night’s top ratings and drove the network to a tie for first place in the key ratings demo.

CBS shared first place with Univision in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic, with each network averaging a 1.4 rating/5 share, and was first place outright in total viewers with 5.5 million. The network aired repeats aside from the 9 p.m. airing of “Big Brother,”the night’s top-rated show with a 2.2/7. A “Big Bang Theory” repeat at 8 was the night’s most-watched show with 7.7 million total viewers.

Univision was fourth in total viewers for the night with 3.6 million.

NBC was third in the demo with a 1.3/5 and second in total viewers with 4.5 million. Following a “Hollywood Game Night” repeat, the “Last Comic Standing” finale at 9 drew a 1.4/5 — down marginally from its last season finale in 2010, but up 40 percent from last week’s episode — and drew 4.9 million total viewers.

Though ABC’s numbers are approximate due to local NFL pre-season preemptions, the network currently stands in fourth place in ratings with a 0.9/3 and third place among total viewers with 4.4 million. The network aired “The Quest” at 8 p.m., which had a 0.6/3 with 2.8 million total viewers, followed by “Rookie Blue” at 9 (1.0/3, 5 million) and “NY Med” the following hour, which had a 0.9/3 with 5.5 million.

Fox tied Telemundo for fifth place in ratings with a 0.6/2 and was fifth in total viewers with 2 million. After a “Sleepy Hollow” repeat, the “Gang Related” finale at 9 had a 0.7/2, up 17 percent from last week, and took 2.4 million total viewers, a 20 percent jump over the previous week.

Telemundo was sixth place in total viewers with 1.4 million.
