Ratings: ‘Glee’ Returns to Top Slot, ‘Food Revolution’ Continues to Sputter

After a month off, Sue Sylvester and the gang nab the ratings crown for the evening

After four weeks without an original episode, Fox’s “Glee” returned to the airwaves to snag the evening’s highest ratings, and gave a big boost to the network’s “Traffic Light,” according to preliminary numbers.

On a night the NBA playoffs drew viewers to ESPN, the new “Glee” began Fox’s primetime roster at 8, nabbing the top spot in the adults 18-49 demo with a 3.7 rating/11 share and 9.6 million total viewers. “Raising Hope” in the following hour took a 2.2/6 in the demo and 5.6 million total viewers, while the comedy “Traffic Light” at 10 jumped 55 percent in the demo with a 1.4/3 and 3.2 million total viewers.

On ABC, “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” at 8 continued its slide with a 1.1/3 in the demo, a 21 percent drop from the previous week’s numbers, and 4.6 million total viewers. (It’s second-season debut last week was down 36 percent in the ratings from the season one premiere.) Tuesday’s “Dancing With the Stars” results show at 9, meanwhile, had the second-highest ratings of the evening, with a 2.9/7 in the demo and 15.8 million total viewers. “Body of Proof” closed out the night at 10 with a 2.4/6 and 11.5 million total viewers.

NBC’s “The Biggest Loser: Couples” at 8 had an 11 percent drop compared to the previous week with a 2.3/6 in the demo and 6.5 million total viewers. At 10, a new episode of “Parenthood” had a 25 percent jump over last week’s ratings, with a 2.5/7 in the demo and 6.3 million total viewers.

CBS aired repeats of its “NCIS” franchise, with “NCIS” at 8 taking a 2.2/6 in the demo and 13.3 million total viewers, and back-to-back reruns of “NCIS: LA” at 9 and 10 drawing a 2.4/6 and 11.2 million, then a 2.0/5 and 8.9 million.
