Fox and CBS topped the ratings charts Tuesday night. "Glee" was the night's number one show with a 4.5 rating/13 share in the key adults 18-49 demographic.
— "Glee" was down 24 percent from last week's record-setting Britney Spears-themed episode, but its numbers were still good enough to put Fox on top for the third straight Tuesday. "Glee" was followed by "Raising Hope," which was down 16 percent from last week with a 2.6/7, and "Running Wilde," which was basically flat with last week at a1.8/5. "Running Wilde" is starting to hover near the cancellation death zone. Overall, Fox averaged 3.3/9 from 8-10 p.m.
— Technically, CBS was in second place with a 3.2/9, but the difference was minuscule and CBS runs a longer 8-11 p.m., so I'm calling this one a draw. CBS aired new episodes of "NCIS," "NCIS: LA" and "The Good Wife." These shows didn't do well in summer re-runs, but they're holding up well in the new season.
— ABC came in third with Michael Imperioli's gritty detective drama "Detroit 1-8-7," the "Dancing With the Stars" results show and "No Ordinary Family." In their third week out, "Detroit 1-8-7" and "No Ordinary Family" were down an average of 16.5 percent. "No Ordinary Family" has been doing well enough to take the hit. It stayed at a respectable 2.6/8. "Detroit 1-8-7" is another story. It's score for the night was a weak 1.8/5.
— NBC brought up the rear with "Parenthood" and "The Biggest Loser's" littlest audience. "Biggest Loser" scored a 2.5/7, a seven percent drop from last week and the series' lowest-rated telecast since its debut in 2004.
