Ratings: Fox Cooks Up a Win

2-hour “Hell’s Kitchen” leads Tuesday night, “America’s Got Talent” takes NBC to second place

A two-hour episode of "Hell's Kitchen," the cooking competition hosted by angry, British chef Gordon Ramsay, propelled Fox to a ratings win on Tuesday night. Fox averaged a 2.7/9 share among the key adults 18-49 demographic, 35 percent more viewers than second place NBC.

RUNNER UP "America's Got Talent" on NBC was Tuesday night's top program, but it was the lowest rated episode of the show so far this summer. "Talent" averaged a 2.8/9, down 18 percent from last week. NBC's lineup also included a new episode of "Losing It With Jillian," which posted a 1.3/5. Overall, NBC averaged 2.0/6 for the night landing them in the number two spot.

DOWNWARD SLIDE ABC scored third for the night with all of it's shows losing significant portions of last week's audience. "Wipeout" was the network's top program with a 2.6/9, but the obstacle course game show was down 16 percent from last Tuesday. "Downfall" and the latest installment of ABC News' "MindGames" series were both down over 20 percent.

WEAK SPOT Summer re-runs keep CBS in contention on most nights, but the network's Tuesday lineup hasn't been able to bring viewers in for encore performances as well as the "CSI" franchise and CBS' sitcoms. "The Good Wife," "NCIS" and "NCIS LA" left CBS in fifth place all of the other major broadcast networks and the Spanish-language broadcaster Univision for the second Tuesday in a row.
