Ratings: Fox and NBC Win Wednesday Night

Reality shows beat repeats and Jimmy Kimmel draws teen Twihards

Reality show talent competitions continue to be catnip to TV viewers. Fox and NBC topped Wednesday night's fast national ratings with two-hour blocs of "America's Got Talent" and "So You Think You Can Dance."

CBS and ABC went with mostly scripted repeats for their Wednesday evening lineups and finished at the bottom of the pack.

PHOTO FINISH: NBC and Fox were almost neck-and-neck from 8-10 p.m. in last night's fast nationals. NBC earned an average 2.6 rating/8 share among the key adults 18-49 demographic with "America's Got Talent" while Fox got a 2.5/8 for "So You Think You Can Dance."

'TWILIGHT' TV: Jimmy Kimmel is an odd choice for a show aimed at teens, but ABC tapped him to host a "Twilight" special on Wednesday night. Kimmel's interviews with the cast of the angsty vampire romance finished first among teens for the final hour of primetime, but "Twilight's" magic buzz doesn't extend to adults. Kimmel's special came in fourth in the 18-49 demo behind Spanish-language broadcaster Univision and cop show repeats on CBS and NBC.
