NBC's "America's Got Talent" and CBS' "Big Brother" shared the top ratings spot Wednesday night, but Fox walked away with an overall ratings win for the night on the strength of "So You Think You Can Dance," according to preliminary numbers.
Fox, which ran "Dance" throughout its primetime roster, took first place in the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic and third in total viewers with a 1.8 rating/6 share and 5 million. Even so, "SYTYCD" was down 10 percent in the demo from last week.
Univision came in second place in the demo with a 1.5/5 and fifth in total viewers with 3.8 million.
CBS grabbed third in the demo and first in total viewers with a 1.4/4 and 5.4 million. The network aired repeates, aside from the Wednesday premiere of "Big Brother" at 8 p.m. — which was down from 2.8 to 1.9 from last Thursday's premiere and down 30 percent in the demo from last summer's Wednesday premiere with a 1.9/7 and drew 5.6 million total viewers.
NBC took fourth in ratings and second in total viewers with a 1.3/4 and 5.2 million. Following repeats of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" and "Up All Night," America's Got Talent" at 9 saw a minor downturn in the demo to hit a season low of 1.9/6, and drew 7.5 million total viewers — the highest total viewership of the night. A "Law & Order: SVU" repeat followed.
ABC, which came in fifth in ratings and third in total viewers with a 1.2/4 and 3.9 million, ran repeats, aside from "Final Witness" at 10, which was up 9 percent in the demo with a 1.2/4 and drew 4.2 million total viewers.
