On a night dominated by President Barack Obama's speech announcing Osama bin Laden's death, Donald Trump eked out a minor victory as "Celebrity Apprentice" won Sunday's top ratings slot, according to preliminary numbers.
Though the networks' coverage of Obama's speech skewed the night's results, "Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC at 9 p.m. took the top spot with a 3.2 rating/8 share in the adults 18-49 demo and 9 million total viewers.

"Apprentice" was preceded by "Dateline" at 7, which had a 1.3/4 in the demo and 5.4 million total viewers, and the finale of "America's Next Great Restaurant" at 8, which garnered a 2.0/8 in the demo and 6 million total viewers.

ABC took the second-highest ratings of the evening with "Desperate Housewives" at 9, which drew a 3.0/7 in the demo and 10.1 million total viewers. The network's evening began with "America's Funniest Home Videos" at 7, which had a 2.1/7 in the demo and 7.6 million total viewers. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" the following hour had a 2.7/7 in the demo and 9.5 million total viewers, while "Brothers & Sisters" at 10 took a 2.1/5 in the demo and 7.3 million total viewers.
CBS aired "60 Minutes" at 7, garnering a 1.5/5 in the demo and 10.5 million total viewers, while "The Amazing Race" the following hour had a 2.5/7 in the demo and 9.7 million total viewers. The "Undercover Boss" finale at 9 had a 2.2/5 in the demo and 8.7 million total viewers, while "CSI: Miami" wrapped up the evening the following hour with a 2.1/5 in the demo and 9 million total viewers.
Fox, which decided to pull its planned three-series, hurricane-themed Animation Domination crossover because of the deadly storms in the South, ran mostly reruns. A "Family Guy" rerun at 7 drew a 1.4/5 in the demo and 3.4 million total viewers, while a new "Simpsons" the following hour recieved a 2.9/8 and 6.1 million total viewers. A repeat of "The Cleveland Show" at 8:30 took a 2.2/6 and 4.8 million total viewers, while a "Family Guy" repeat at 9 received a 2.5/6 and 5.3 million total viewers. An "American Dad" repeat closed out the evening at 9:30 with a 2.1/5 and 4.5 million total viewers.
