CBS grabbed the ratings crown on Thursday thanks to the solid performance of “Big Brother,” according to preliminary numbers.
The network’s sole original programming of the night, “Big Brother” at 9 p.m., drew a 2.6 rating/8 share in the adults 18-49 demographic. That was flat with last week, but it was enough to grab the highest ratings of the night and give CBS a victory over the competition – and 6.9 million total viewers.
At ABC, “Wipeout” opened the night at 8, which performed flat versus last week with a 1.9/7 in the demo and 6.6 million total viewers. “Expedition Impossible” aired the following hour, jumping 23 percent compared to last week with a 1.6/5 in the demo and 5 million total viewers. “Rookie Blue” closed the night flat versus last week, tying for the series’ summer low with a 1.3/4 in the demo and 4,8 million total viewers.
Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” at 8 enjoyed a 6 percent uptick compared to last week, registering a 1.7/6 in the demo and 5.2 million total viewers. A “Glee” repeat followed.
NBC ran repeats throughout the evening.
