CBS finished first outright on Tuesday, despite its “NCIS” slipping to a new demo low. While it managed just a 1.9 rating in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic, the procedural still had primetime’s most total viewers, with 15.4 million.
Also for America’s most-watched network, Taraji P. Henson‘s return to “Person of Interest” gave the drama an 8 percent demo increase, just a one-tenth of a Nielsen point uptick for the low-rated program.
Meanwhile, Fox fell to sixth in total viewers, besting only Telemundo. Fox aired one rerun between originals.
CBS was first in ratings with a 1.7 rating/6 share in the main demo and in total viewers with an average of 12.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. After “NCIS,” spinoff “NCIS: New Orleans” at 9 p.m. received a 1.8/6 and 14.1 million viewers. “Person of Interest” at 10 had a 1.4/5 and 9.2 million viewers.
NBC was second in ratings with a 1.6/5 and in viewers with 6.3 million. “The Voice” at 8 earned a night-high 2.4/8 and had 10.4 million viewers. “Undateable” at 9 got a 1.5/5 and 5.2 million viewers. “One Big Happy” at 9:30 posted a 1.1/3 and 3.7 million viewers. A rerun followed.
ABC was third in ratings with a 1.2/4 and in viewers with 3.4 million. “Fresh Off the Boat” at 8 had a 1.4/5 and 4.7 million viewers. “Repeat After Me” at 8:30 got a 1.0/3 and 3.1 million viewers. “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at 9 received a 1.6/5 and 3.9 million viewers.
CW was fourth in ratings with a 1.1/4 and in viewers with 2.7 million. “The Flash” at 8 posted a 1.3/5 and 3.5 million viewers. At 9, “iZombie” had a 0.8/3 and 2 million viewers.
Univision and Fox tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.9/3. Univision was fifth in total viewers with 2.5 million; Fox was sixth with 2.4 million.
For Fox, “Hell’s Kitchen” at 8 got a 1.2/4 and 3.5 million viewers. Following a repeat, “Weird Loners” at 9:30 managed just a 0.6/2 and 1.4 million viewers.
Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.3 million.
