Though down slightly from last week, ABC's "The Bachelor," combined with "Castle," gave the network a ratings win Monday night, according to preliminary numbers. CBS's comedy block — despite drawing the night's best ratings performance with "How I Met Your Mother" — took a series of hits, with most of the shows hitting or tying lows.
ABC took first place in ratings and total viewers with a 2.7 rating/7 share and 9.6 million. "The Bachelor" at 8 p.m. ticked down to a 2.9/8 and drew 9.1 million total viewers, while "Castle" at 10 ran even with last week for a 2.3/6 and drew the night's largest audience with 10.7 million total viewers.
Fox tied CBS for second in ratings with a 2.5/7 and took second place outright in total viewers with 8.6 million. "Bones" at 8 inched up to a 2.3/6 and drew 8.7 million total viewers, while "The Following" at 9 dipped slightly for a 2.7/7 and had 8.4 million total viewers.
CBS, which scored a 2.5/6 and drew third place in total viewers with 8.2 million, ran "How I Met Your Mother" at 8, which was even with last week for a 3.4/10 — the night's best individual performance in the demo — and drew 8.6 mill lion total viewers. "Rules of Engagement" at 8:30 dipped 10 percent to a season low of 2.6/7 and took 7.8 million total viewers, while "2 Broke Girls" at 9 ticked down 9 percent to tie a series low of 3.2/8 and had 10.2 million total viewers. "Mike & Molly" at 9:30 was the hardest hit program on the network's roster, slipping 16 percent to a season low of 2.7/7 and drawing 9.8 million total viewers. A "Hawaii Five-0" repeat aired at 10.
NBC, in fourth place in ratings and total viewers with a 1.8/5 and 4.9 million, aired "The Biggest Loser" at 8, which ran even with a 2.1/6 and had 5.7 million total viewers, and "Deception" at 10, which drew a 1.2/3 with 3.2 million total viewers.
