A strong lead-in from "Dancing With the Stars"' helped the new Dana Delany drama "Body of Proof" easily win its time slot. 
ABC's new crime show debuted to a 3.0 rating/8 share in the 18-49 demographic and 13.8 million total viewers at 10 p.m., following two hours of "Dancing"-related programming, according to preliminary numbers.
The show, in which Delany plays a surgeon-turned-medical examiner, also had ABC's best ratings in three years in the time slot for a regular hour-long program, the network said.
The network started off its primetime slate at 8 with the recap special, "Dancing With the Stars: The Story So Far," which drew a 2.7/8 in the demo and 12.8 million total viewers. The "Dancing" results show in the following hour garnered a 4.2/11 in the demo and 18.8 million total viewers.
At CBS, "NCIS" at 8 pulled a 3.8/11 in the demo, consistent with last week's performance, and 18.2 million total viewers. "NCIS: Los Angeles" the following hour drew a 3.5/9 in the demo, a nine percent increase from last week, and 15.2 million total viewers. "The Good Wife," at 10 scored a 1.9/5 in the demo, down 10 percent from last week, and 9.9 million total viewers.
NBC's "The Biggest Loser: Couples" shed some heft from 8 to 10 with a 2.6/7 in the demo, a 13 percent drop. Tuesday's episode drew 7.1 million viewers. "Parenthood," at 10, was flat compared to its last original airing on March 1 at a 1.9/5 in the demo and 4.7 million total viewers.
FOX's slate began with a "Glee" rerun at 8, which grabbed a 1.4/4 in the demo and 4.4 million total viewers, followed by a "Raising Hope" repeat the following hour that took a 1.3/3 in the demo and 3.5 million total viewers. A new episode of "Traffic Light" at 9:30 rounded out the evening, with a 1.1/3 in the demo and 2.6 million total viewers.
