Ratings: ‘The Bachelor’ Waltzes Away With Sleepy Monday Night

ABC reality series holds strong over two hours

“The Bachelor” found itself head and shoulders above the competition in the Monday night ratings, handing ABC an easy win in the key adults 18-49 demographic.

Airing from 8 p.m.-10 p.m., “The Bachelor” averaged a 2.3 rating and 7.2 million viewers. In the key demo, that is nearly double the rating of its nearest competitor.

ABC easily won the night in the key demo with a 1.8 rating but finished second in total viewers with 5.8 million. “Quantico” followed “The Bachelor” at 10 p.m. with a 0.8 rating and 2.9 million viewers.

Fox finished second in the demo with a 1.2 rating but third in total viewers with 3.8 million. “Gotham” drew a 1.1 rating and 3.5 million viewers at 8 p.m.. “Lucifer” followed at 9 p.m. with a 1.2 rating and 4.2 million viewers.

CBS finished third in the demo with a 1.0 rating but first in total viewers with 6.1 million. A repeat of “Big Bang Theory” aired at 8 p.m.. “Kevin Can Wait” followed at 8:30 p.m. with a 1.2 rating and 6.4 million viewers. “The Odd Couple” aired at 9 p.m. with a 1.1 rating and 5.8 million viewers. The season finale of “The Odd Couple” aired at 9:30 p.m. with a 0.9 rating and 5.3 million viewers. A repeat of “Criminal Minds” aired at 10 p.m..

NBC finished fourth overall with a 0.9 rating and 3.6 million viewers. “The New Celebrity Apprentice” aired from 8 p.m.-10 p.m. and averaged a 1.0 rating and 3.7 million viewers. “Timeless” followed at 10 p.m. with a 0.9 rating and 3.5 million viewers.

Univision came in fifth with a  0.7 rating and 2 million viewers.

Telemundo finished sixth in the demo with a 0.6 rating but seventh in total viewers with 1.61 million.

The CW finished seventh in the demo with a 0.5 rating but sixth in total viewers with 1.64 million. “Supergirl” drew a 0.7 rating and 2.3 million viewers at 8 p.m.. “Jane the Virgin” followed at 9 p.m. with a 0.3 rating and 946,000 viewers.
