Fox and CBS battled atop the ratings charts Sunday night for the second straight week with "Big Brother" scoring as the night's top show and Fox getting the overall win.
WAYWARD 'SONS' Fox averaged a 1.6 rating/5 share in the adults 18-49 demographic from 7-10 p.m. Sunday with a new episode of "Sons of Tuscon" and re-runs of "The Simpsons," "The Cleveland Show," "Family Guy" and "American Dad." The new "Sons of Tuscon" was actually Fox's lowest-rated show of the night with a 0.6/2. "Family Guy" was Fox's top show with a 2.4/7 average from 9-10 p.m.
BIGGEST BROTHER CBS was a close number two, especially considering that they run an extra hour of primetime. CBS averaged a 1.4/5 from 7-11 p.m. Orwellian reality show "Big Brother" was Sunday's top primetime show for the second straight week, scoring a 2.5/8 from 8-9 p.m. "Big Brother" was up nine percent from last week. Repeats of "Undercover Boss" and "Cold Case" rounded out CBS' lineup.
HEAVEN'S GATE Both ABC and NBC tied for last place with 1.0/3 averages. NBC's aired all re-runs, but ABC's lineup included new episodes of "Scoundrels" and "The Gates" that both hit record lows. "The Gates" tied its lowest ever rating from last week with a 0.9/3. "Scoundrels" got an 0.6/2, down 14 percent from its worst numbers last week. Time to put both of these shows on cancellation deathwatch.
