The semi-finals of "America's Got Talent," NBC's biggest hit of the summer, boosted NBC to a Tuesday night primetime ratings win. NBC averaged a 2.6 rating/8 share in the key adults 18-49 demographic from 8-11 p.m with a two-hour episode of "Talent" and an hour of the game show "Wipeout."
'TALENT' STAYS STRONG "America's Got Talent" was Tuesday night's top primetime show with a 3.1/9 score. "Minute to Win It" posted a 1.8/6. Kiddie opera phenom Jackie Evancho, who has helped draw viewers to "Talent," will return for her semi-final performance next week.
STUCK IN THE MIDDLE Obstacle course game show "Wipeout" and "Shaq Vs." helped ABC come in second with a 1.9/6. Univision took the number three spot with a 1.6/5 average and Fox came in fourth with back-to-back repeats of "Glee" combining for a 1.5/5.
HARD NIGHT Thursdays have been an Achilles Heel for CBS all summer. The network's "CSI" and sitcom reruns have been doing well but the Thursday lineup of "The Good Wife" and "NCIS" repeats continually comes in last. CBS finished in fifth again this week behind the other major broadcast networks and Spanish-language broadcaster Univision with a 1.2/4 average.
