“American Idol” was the top rated program on Wednesday night in the key demographic and total viewers.
The singing competition series netted a 2.5 rating in the advertiser coveted 18-49 demo and drew 9.6 million viewers. Its closest competition was CBS’ “Criminal Minds,” which scored a 2.0 rating and 9.4 million viewers.
Fox finished the night first in the key demo with a 1.9 rating and second in total viewers with 6.9 million. “American Idol” aired at 8 p.m. “Hell’s Kitchen” aired at 9 p.m. and got a 1.4 rating and 4.3 million viewers.
CBS finished second in the key demo with a 1.6 rating, but first in total viewers with just under 8 million. “2 Broke Girls” managed a 1.6 rating and 6.9 million viewers at 8 p.m., followed by “Mike & Molly” at 8:30 p.m., which got a 1.6 rating and 7.1 million viewers. “Criminal Minds” aired at 9, followed by “Code Black” at 10, which got a 1.4 rating and 7.8 million viewers.
ABC was third in the key demo with a 1.1 rating, but fourth in total viewers with 4.3 million. The network aired reruns from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. “American Crime” aired at 10 p.m., pulling in a 0.9 rating and 3.6 million viewers.
NBC tied for fourth in the key demo with a 0.9 rating, but finished third in total viewers with 4.9 million, airing only repeats.
The CW tied for fourth in the key demo with a 0.9 rating and finished fifth in total viewers with 2.3 million. “Arrow” pulled in a 1.1 rating and 2.7 million viewers in the 8 p.m. timeslot, while “Supernatural,” which aired at 9 p.m., got a 0.7 rating and 1.9 million viewers.
Univision finished in sixth place with a 0.8 rating and just under 2 million viewers.
Telemundo finished in seventh place with a 0.6 rating and 1.5 million viewers.
