Rami Malek was one of the biggest winners at the Oscars, taking home the Best Actor for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” but the night didn’t come without some pain as he took a hard fall off the stage after the ceremony ended.

As the attendees filed out of the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Malek emerged from the backstage area where he was doing press interviews following his Oscar win. As he walked down the stage steps with his Oscar, Malek lost his footing and hit the stairs with a loud thud. Videos of the fall were posted on social media.

Paramedics were seen treating Malek in the theater’s front row before being escorted to a private area for further treatment. Malek was later seen at the Academy Governor’s Ball with no visible injuries.

Despite that awkward moment, it was a good night for Malek and “Bohemian Rhapsody,” as the Freddie Mercury biopic won four Oscars. In addition to Best Actor, “Bohemian Rhapsody” also won Best Film Editing, Sound Mixing, and Sound Editing.

Reps for Malek did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
