"The Pacific" star Rami Malek has joined the cast of Summit's two-part "Twilight" sequel "Breaking Dawn," the actor told Entertainment Tonight on Emmy night.
Malek will appear in the second film as Benjamin, an Egyptian vampire with the power to control the four elements.
The character sounds like Aang from "The Last Airbender," except with fangs and the least threatening name imaginable.
Bill Condon directs "Breaking Dawn" from a massive adapted screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg.
The first part of "Breaking Dawn" hits theaters on Nov. 18, 2011, while the second part will arrive on Nov. 16, 2012.
Production will begin shortly in Louisiana and Vancouver.
Malek is best known for playing the Egyptian pharaoh Ahkmenrah in "Night at the Museum" and its blockbuster sequel. He previously starred on the Fox sitcom "The War at Home" and also appeared in several episodes of "24" last season. Malek will next be seen in Tom Hanks' dramedy "Larry Crowne."
The 29-year-old actor is represented by WME.
