Quentin Tarantino will receive the Lumière Award at the Lumière festival, following in the footsteps of past recipients like Clint Eastwood and Milos Forman.
The film festival will be held in Lyon and Greater Lyon from October 14 to October 20. The festival said it was honoring Tarantino both for his work on such classic films as "Pulp Fiction" and "Reservoir Dogs" and for the way he injects a love of cinema into each film he creates.
It's no accident, for example, that his recent revenge fantasy "Inglourious Basterds" stages the killing of Adolph Hitler in a movie palace.
Tarantino recently received his second Best Original Screenplay Oscar for writing the revisionist historical film "Django Unchained."
