Searchlight has revealed the release date for “Quasi,” the “Hunchback of Notre Dame” satire film from the team behind the “Super Troopers” franchise.
The film will stream on April 20, 2023, as a Hulu Original in the U.S. It will be available on Star+ in Latin American territories and on Disney+ in all others.
According to the official synopsis, “Quasi” will follow “a hapless hunchback only yearns for love, but finds himself in the middle of a murderous feud between the Pope and the King of France when each orders the hunchback to kill the other.”
Broken Lizard’s Kevin Heffernan is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Steve Lemme, Jay Chandrasekhar, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske, who also make up the cast and serve as executive producers. Adrianne Palicki (“The Orville,” “Friday Night Lights”) also stars. Their “Super Troopers” collaborator Richard Perello is a producer.
Production began in November 2021.
