Paul Pflug and Melissa Zuckerman's Principal Communications Group has hired former NBC Universal executive Joe Libonati and is opening a New York office, the company announced Wednesday.
The Los Angeles-based firm represents Summit Entertainment, Marvel Entertainment, IMAX and Wasserman Media Group, among others.
Principal Communications has been in business since May 2006.
Before joining Principal Communications, Libonati was VP of corporate communications and media relations at NBC Universal in New York. As managing director of PCG East, Libonati will work with clients and manage the firm's expanding east coast presence.
Libonati started his career in communications at PMK in New York and moved to the company's Los Angeles offices in 1997. From PMK, he moved to I/D Public Relations where he became a Vice President and handled a diverse list of clients.
In a written statement, Pflug and Zuckerman said, “Joe possesses a unique combination of corporate communications insights and accomplishments as well as an entrepreneurial background that will serve PCG and our clientele very well. We are pleased to have him on board as we continue to evolve the services and counsel that the firm offers clients in today’s ever-changing media and communications landscape."
