Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ to Play at AMC Theatres Next Week

The 1984 film will play at 87 AMC locations

After news broke that music icon Prince had passed away at the age of 57 on Thursday, AMC Theatres and Warner Bros. decided that they will bring “Purple Rain” back to the big screen.

AMC will play the iconic 1984 film at 87 AMC locations starting April 23 through April 28. Prince made his feature film debut in the musical drama, which showcased his talents. It made $68 million at the domestic box office.

Prince, the music legend behind hits like “Raspberry Beret,” “Purple Rain,” and “Little Red Corvette,” was found dead on Thursday morning at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota.
