Lionsgate released the first trailer for “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” on Friday.
The film is based on the Seth Grahame-Smith novel, which was itself a twist on the classic Jane Austen book. The film mashes up characters from Austen’s book about love in Victorian England with a horde of the walking undead.
In the trailer, things start off much as one would expect a Jane Austen story to start, with lots of genteel society types enjoying a lovely party — until zombies begin feasting on them.
The film stars “Cinderella” and “Downton Abbey” alum Lily James and former “Dr. Who” star Matt Smith. It also stars Lena Headey, Charles Dance, Suki Waterhouse and Bella Heathcote. Burr Steers directed the film in addition to writing the screenplay.
“Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” will premiere on Feb. 5.
