“The Purge” opened at the number one spot at the box office, moving it up on TheWrap‘s PowerGrid this week. The film wasn’t alone: its director, James Demonaco is on the way up thanks to the film’s success.
Dwayne Johnson is hot off his three latest films, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “Pain and Gain,” and most recently, “Fast & Furious 6.” His ability to turn projects into box office gold bumped his upcoming “Hercules: The Thracian Wars” into the top 100 projects on the PowerGrid.
